You would have thought that it was Friday night and that there was a street party happening in the city on Thursday. But oh no! It was Digicel spreading some early Christmas cheer and putting a new spin on Black Friday.
Ahead of a major Friday 13th sale which started at midnight at the Digicel store on the corner of Micoud and Bridge Streets (and also at the Vieux Fort store) the leading telecommunications company unveiled its Christmas Campaign for 2015: ‘Brighten Your Christmas’. The press witnessed festivities which started with a Christmas parade from the Boulevard onto Bridge Street. The parade featured angels and masqueraders complete with traditional Christmas characters.
As part of the promotion all Digicel customers from November 13th to December 31st will have a chance to win daily from over $200,000 in cash, gifts and goodies.
Digicel will brighten the Christmas of customers weekly with extraordinary rewards of $10,000 cash.. Additionally, customers will also have a chance to win loads of daily gifts including Samsung tablets, gas vouchers, grocery vouchers, smartphones, accessories, clothing store vouchers and many more. Weekly cash winners will be called live on Choice TV every Friday at 7:55 pm during Digicel’s ‘Merry Moments’ Christmas programme.
Digicel is offering all customers the opportunity to enjoy a Brighter Christmas and has made winning very simple. Prepaid customers qualify by topping up $10 or more or by signing up for Data Lite plan. Postpaid customers who pay their bill in full and by the 26th of November and December also qualify to win. By joining the Digicel family with the purchase of a handset or 4G smartphone, customers will also get a chance to win the $10,000 cash weekly and the daily prizes in the ‘Brighten Your Christmas’ campaign.
Digicel will also make Christmas even more extraordinary as communities across Saint Lucia are set to benefit tremendously from a host of initiatives which will focus on making Christmas brighter for the underprivileged. Digicel’s annual food hamper distribution will continue to make its mark amongst families, in homes and charitable organizations. Team Digicel will continue efforts to feed the underprivileged as well as the hosting of various Kids’ Christmas parties with over 3,000 children receiving gifts.
According to Louise Victor of Digicel, who spoke at the launch on Thursday, Christmas time is a special time for Digicel as the company continues to give back to not only customers but the wider community. She said that Digicel is extremely excited about this campaign ‘Brighten Your Christmas’ as it holds incredible benefits for all customers.
Quite apart from the amazing weekly cash rewards, the daily gifts carry significant value for customers. “It is our way of saying to our customers that we truly appreciate your loyalty and what better time than the festive season to extend our sincerest gratitude while simultaneously making the Christmas season an even more memorable one,” said Country Manager, Siobhan James- Alexander.
Digicel’s unconventional launch was followed by a Mega Black Friday Sale with thousands seizing the opportunity to purchase handsets for as low as EC$69.
