Digicel partners with XS Productions and Aqua Mele for Easter Weekend

Digicel continues to uphold its social responsibility of supporting the rich traditions in Saint Lucia through continued partnership for various Easter activities. Digicel is the proud platinum sponsor of the third annual Aqua Mele and has yet again collaborated with XS Productions in the hosting of the eighteenth annual Easter Kite-Flying Festival. Both events will be held at Pigeon Island on Easter Sunday and Monday and promise to be nothing short of extraordinary experiences for all patrons and families.

The hosting of Aqua Mele 2016 has seen many innovations added to this year’s two-day extravaganza. Loads of activities including beach volleyball, paintball, small goals competition, go-kart racing, non-mariners race, chicken-eating competition, fitness challenge and Zumba will take place on Easter Sunday and Monday. Daytime activities will end at 6:00 pm on Sunday night and then from 8:00 pm the first ever Aqua Rave concert will be held lawn side at the Pigeon Island National Landmark.

The annual Easter Kite-Flying Festival, which is the longest-running family outdoor event on-island, will this year be celebrated under the theme ‘Savolan Allez’ and will be staged left of The Landings. Historically, scores of families and individuals compete in and patronize this fun-filled day of kite-flying. The classes of competition for 2016 are kids, adults and Flying Aces; participants will be judged in the categories of biggest flying, most colourful, highest flying, most patriotic, scariest design, most innovative kite plus a new category of best kite made on site.
