Drag Racer drives to success in St Kitts!

As part of its independence celebrations, St Kitts and Nevis held a drag racing event on the St James Raceway from September 17 to 19 with participants from its home territory as well as Antigua, Anguilla, British Virgin Islands, Monsterrat, St Martin, St Maarten, St Lucia and Trinidad.
St Lucia was represented by Glenroy Ramjeawan of the C4 Drag Racing Team who copped first place in the 10 seconds Class.  According to Ramjeawan, “This is a first for the island.  I feel very happy and very proud to have brought home this title.”
C4 has seven members dispersed throughout the island and also has branches in Grenada and Trinidad.  Ramjeawan explained the Ford Mustang that he raced in St Kitts used to be an old derelict car which they found under a tree in La Clery and overhauled to become a full drag machine.
The team is registered with the Southern Racing Association and says it is not pleased with the level of racing on island.  C4 hopes its win in St Kitts will give a much needed boost to the sport in St Lucia.  C4 will be taking a break for a while before travelling to Nevis in December where the team will be taking part in another competition.
The results for the St Kitts Independence Drag Race are as follows: 10 seconds Class—Glenroy Ramjeawan of St Lucia; 11 seconds Class—Valentine Brooks of Anguilla; 12 seconds Class—Felix Smithen of Nevis; 13 seconds Class-Mickhail Rogers of St Kitts; 14 seconds Class –Calvert Williams of St Kitts.
