ECFH – 12 years of support to NCF

The National Community Foundation (NCF) is once again getting the corporate backing of the ECFH Group for the staging of its Telethon to be held at the Gaiety on Rodney Bay, this Sunday, 26 May 2013. The telethon is undoubtedly the largest fund raising activity on the island. This year the aim is to raise EC$300,000 in donations. ECFH’s support for the NCF dates back to 2002, making this the 12th year of support of the entity, and the Group has been a loyal contributor to the NCF’s signature event – The National Telethon – aimed at raising funds to provide for the island’s less privileged. Over the years, the Group has contributed significantly to the event and has been a steady and consistent partner. In 2012, the ECFH Group signed a further 3-year covenant with the NCF.

In addition to its monetary donation, the company’s staff members also volunteer their time by providing logistical support and manning the pledge booths on the day of the Telethon. In addition, Bank of Saint Lucia (BOSL), ECFH’s largest subsidiary is making it easier for customers and the general public to contribute to the NCF. Customers can opt to pledge using the Complete Online Banking platform where transfers can be made directly to the Foundation. BOSL’s Swipe on the Go will be available at the Telethon, where patrons can contribute to the NCF using their credit and debit cards.

ECFH’s consistent support of the NCF is in keeping with its corporate social commitment to the socio-economic improvement of all Saint Lucians, and particularly to the less fortunate among us.

Assistant manager for corporate communications at ECFH, Omari Frederick extended best wishes to NCF executive director Madonna Monrose, the board and all stakeholders – for the successful hosting of this year’s Telethon.  Monrose thanked the ECFH Group for its continued support of the NCF and lauded the Group for giving life to the tagline: “To Do Well, One Must Do Good.”

Frederick encouraged St Lucians – private citizens and business owners alike to pledge contributions to the NCF. He stressed that “whatever you can, whether $5 or $5,000 or more – whatever the value, it will indeed go a long way in positively impacting a wide cross-section of socially disadvantaged persons including youth at risk, the elderly, underprivileged

children who benefit from scholarship programmes, the homeless, persons with disabilities, as well as persons with serious medical conditions.”

According to Frederick: “ECFH recognizes the challenging economic times globally, of which St Lucia is no exception, and encourages all St Lucians to do all they can to contribute to the support of those less fortunate in our midst because our light shines brightest in times of struggle.”
