Empowering Youth through Capacity Building

The workshop targeted youth from all clubs and organizations in the community.

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Micoud Youth and Sports Council held a Capacity Building Workshop during the weekend of the 16th and 17th of June 2018. The workshop targeted youth from all clubs and organizations in the community.

The purpose of the workshop was to:

?       To educate club members on the roles and functions of executive members

?       To help club members plan and host successful events.

?       To educate youth on effective communication and public relations.

?       To develop an understanding of the purpose and strategy of National Youth Council.

Participants of the workshop were engaged in sessions on ,Team Dynamics, an overview of the National Youth Council and its strategy,  Effective Communication and Branding as well as an introduction into carrying out Rapid and Participatory Rural Assessments. Participants were pleased with the content shared over the two days and committed to advancing the youth movement in the community.

Workshop facilitators included the Saint Lucia National Youth Council led by Mr. Jeshurun Andrew, members of the Micoud Youth and Sports Interim Council and Radio and TV personality, Ms. Herma Demacque.

The Micoud Youth and Sports Council be hosting similar workshops in the future to ensure its affiliates develop and strengthen their skills, abilities, processes and resources  needed to adapt and thrive in a fast-changing world.
