St. Lucia Fire Service – It was a pleasantly quiet weekend for the Saint Lucia Fire Service in regard to the nature of calls that we responded to. Although we responded to ninety one calls, majority of the responses were made to calls, medical in nature. However, we did respond to five fire related calls. Four of which were bush or rubbish fires and one response was to a structural fire.
The fire suppression team found an unoccupied concrete dwelling house with a fully developed fire in the front portion of the structure. Offensive firefighting was initiated with the use of forced entry into the property. The fire, which was quickly extinguished, left parts the dwelling structure with fire and smoke damage. No other properties were reported affected or persons reported injured as it relates to this incident.
The fire service also responded to three calls relating to physical assault and one motor vehicular incident.
Emergency personnel found one female individual on the scene who was involved in the incident. The individual, who identified herself as the rider of the motor cycle, was assessed. She sustained various fractures to her legs. The patient was immobilized and transported via ambulance to the OKEU Hospital for further medical treatment.
