The Saint Lucia Fire Service (SLFS) announced moments ago that one of their own has tested positive for COVID-19. The firefighter is attached to the Micoud Fire Station and is currently receiving treatment at the Respiratory Hospital. He is among the cases which were recorded on Thursday, October 22.
In a statement to the press, Chief Fire Officer Joseph Joseph said that an intervention was made with fire personnel who were in contact with the officer, along with other officers assigned to the station. “As a result, some officers have been referred to a quarantine facility, some placed under home quarantine, while the remaining officers have been cleared to resume duty.
