FLASHBACK

Our flashback photo of last week shows Sir John Compton with the island’s first Governor Sir Frederick Clarke. The Governor and Sir John had just finished plating a pair of trees in Constitution Park in Castries. On 27 February 1967, Saint Lucia became an associated state of the United Kingdom gaining the right to have its first local Governor. Sir Frederick Clarke is also the father of Lady Janice Compton.

The ladies in our flashback photo this week new nothing of “selfies” yet alone cell-phones and Facebook when this photo was taken. Who are the eight pictured here? Can you also tell us when this photo was taken and what was the occasion.
