On Friday February 18, 2011 the students and teachers of George Charles Secondary School hosted a very entertaining and interactive activity to celebrate the island’s independence anniversary, which will be marked here February 22.
The activity started with a march, followed by the singing of the national anthem, hoisting of the national flag and the reciting of the national pledge. This was followed by intercessory prayers for the nation, our leaders, parents, teachers and students.
The main activities however included performances in song and dance by both teachers and students as well as a special address by Darren Hosier. The children were thrilled by the appearance of the teachers in the modeling segment and they in turn entertained in song. Following a break the students ended the afternoon session with Karaoke singing where they competed for points awarded to their respective houses.
