The Department of the Public Service would like to inform the general public of the suspension of the 2020 Government of Saint Lucia Annual Summer Employment Program. The suspension is due to COVID-19- related alternative work arrangements and other physical distancing protocols being implemented by several public service agencies.
Each year, approximately two hundred students are provided with internships via the Government of Saint Lucia Annual Summer Employment Program, which targets fifth -form students, first -year college students and university students who are not yet in their final year. Students are granted a two -month period of employment from June to July or July to August. At the end of their internship, students receive a stipend to assist in defraying the cost of school supplies as they continue in their studies.
The Department of the Public Service apologizes to students and parents for the unavailability of the program this year. The Department looks forward to the resumption of the program in 2021.
