Governor General celebrates La Rose

The Grand Fete La Rose/ La Woz or the La Rose Feast Day was celebrated in Saint Lucia yesterday Friday 30th August. La Woz is one of two flower festivals observed as part of the islands cultural heritage, the other being La Maguerite.Programming for the Feast Day included a church service under the distinguished patronage of Her Excellency, Dame Pearlette Louisy at the Lady of the Assumption Church in Vieux Fort from 10 am, a parade through the streets of Vieux Fort from 11:30 am and group presentations near the Vieux Fort Library from 12:30 pm. This year’s La Rose Festival celebration has engaged audiences from seven communities through a number of community and zonal séances.
