As a Government Minister with a diplomatic passport in his capacity on official Government Business the US can and sometimes do facilitate persons who would ordinarily in their private capacity be barred from entering the US. So big deal. However, in the first place the question is was it not Politics that brough about his circumstance? Just wondering! As indeed the US has never offered an official Public statement on his situation.
