He is a hero!

[dropcap]T[/dropcap]he Department of Tourism, Information and Broadcasting on Wednesday paid tribute to Mr. Zacheus Dominic, a lifeguard employed with Sandals Regency Saint Lucia for his act of bravery displayed on Monday February 23, 2015 when he successfully rescued a resident of La Toc who was experiencing difficulties in the sea at La Toc.

The first ever Tourism Hero Award was handed over by Minister of Tourism, Hon. Dominic Fedee. The Department expressed gratitude to Zacheus for his act of bravery and going above and beyond the call of duty. Minister Fedee spoke to the level of dedication evident among the industry’s employees, contributing to the quality of product offered to visitors. Mr. Dominic thanked individuals for recognizing his efforts and for their confidence in his abilities as a lifeguard. He is scheduled to leave Saint Lucia tomorrow for Buckingham Palace where he will receive the Commonwealth Mountbatten Medal.
