He fought tirelessly for the Arts in Saint Lucia but the backward leaders never gave the Arts much attention. It seem he was more appreciate and lauded overseas than at home. The government could and should have done more for the Arts especially when Sir Derek was alive. We wasted a golden opportunity to cement his legacy while he was alive…that’s the nature of our myopic leaders…Still we don’t have a major theater for the Arts despite all the talent Saint Lucia is producing…it is time for the government to wake up and give the people a world class theatre so the Arts can flourish..
