The Pigeon Island National Landmark came alive last Sunday July 27 with the 11th edition of the 2014 Heineken Green Synergy. Hosted by MC Jordan of Hot FM the event saw hundreds flocking to the venue for a wonderful music treat from 5 PM. Also on show were DJ’s Twins of Twins with Power Plus Sounds and DJ HP.
A number of DJ’s showed up for the “live” auditions and for a place in the first preliminary round to be held later this month. The DJ’s on Sunday included former competitors and some newcomers including one female DJ. The DJ’s were DJ Bere, DJ Sniper, DJ Beno, DJ Ratty, DJ Flexx, DJ Stain, DJ Moko, DJ Play, Selecta DM, DJ Bompy, Run It Red, DJ Mad X and DJ Matyr.
This year the competition will seek to crown two winners; a mix master DJ and a Sound Clash DJ. Ahead of the finals on Sunday August 31st, judges will be scouting for DJ’s with potential at various venues to enter the preliminary round of the competition. The next stop for Heineken Green Synergy is Lushie’s Bar on the Vieux Fort/Laborie highway this Saturday August 2. A number of DJ’s will again put their skills to the test in both the skills and mixing segment as well as the Soundclash with some daring sound clashes expected as well.
