This Sunday, August 9th, will see the first round of competition in this year’s Heineken Green Synergy DJ competition. This follows two final auditions last weekend in an effort to select the best DJs to move into the preliminary round of a revamped Heineken Green Synergy.
Auditions began on July 24 at the Riverbank in Micoud and were also held July 26 in Laborie at the Rudy John Beach. Last weekend auditions were held Saturday August 1 at Pigeon Island and Sunday August 2 in Roseau.
This year the auditions have attracted more than thirty DJs with nineteen now moving on to the first competition in the skills segment on Sunday. The event will be held at the Sabwisha beach in Choiseul from 4 pm. The competing DJs are DJ Static, Hyper Supreme, DJ Sniper, DJ Play, DJ C4, DJ Smokey, Ecstatic Entertainment, DJ Josh, DJ Bompy, DJ Leius, DJ Moko, DJ Mikey, Selector Nyle, DJ Lil Yute, DJ Lovely, DJ Shabba, DJ Wayne, DJ-Y and DJ Swall-I.
Ten DJs will also hit it off tune-for-tune in the clash segment. They are DJ Ratty, DJ Omega, DJ Run It Red, DJ Boss Dero, DJ Play/MC Mega B, Selector Nyle, DJ Lil Yute, DJ Shabba, DJ Wayne and Selector Nyle.
This is the 12th edition of Heineken Green Synergy, the summer-long DJ competition where DJs from all over the island compete for a cash prize, a trophy and other prizes. The event typically attracts a large crowd following with fans wooing for their favourite DJs. The audience is also afforded opportunities to win prizes and this year extra prizes can be won via the Heineken Green Synergy Facebook page.
