Homicide number climbs to 30

With police reporting that a young man of Entrepot, Castries as the island’s latest homicide victim, local lawmen are adamant that they are doing all within their powers to keep crime under control.

The latest incident according to police occurred on Friday, November 15, 2013, at about 8:33 p.m. At that time, police officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department received a report of an incident which occurred on the Millenium Highway, Castries.

According to a press release from the police, the officers responded immediately. Upon arrival, they received information that 33-year old Akwaso Francois, a resident of Entrepot, Castries was driving his motor car along the Millenium Highway in the direction of Castries. He was accompanied by 27 year old Ava Louis of Monier, Gros Islet and two other male passengers reportedly known to them.

While on the motor car, an altercation reportedly occurred resulting in both Francois and Louis sustaining serious injuries. What lead to this altercation is being investigated by the police. Francois and Louis were transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance where they were treated and admitted in critical condition. Francois subsequently succumbed to his injuries and is now listed as homicide victim number thirty. Ava Louis, however is said to be in a stable condition and recovering at Victoria Hospital.

According to police two persons are currently in police custody assisting with the investigations.
