Comments on: Hospitals, State Probing Caribbean Med School https://stluciastar.com/hospitals-state-probing-caribbean-med-school/ Bringing the Truth to Light Sun, 07 Jun 2015 18:10:46 +0000 hourly 1 https://wordpress.org/?v=6.8.3 By: Spartan grad https://stluciastar.com/hospitals-state-probing-caribbean-med-school/#comment-95182 Sun, 07 Jun 2015 18:10:46 +0000 https://stluciastar.com/?p=44803#comment-95182 I find it interesting that the Star Newspaper would publish an article from 11 years ago, which has statements like “MAY stop providing….” Etc Maybe you should stay more up to date and publish articles on how they have been in St Lucia and contributed to its economy for over 30+years, trained thousands of doctors some practicing in St Lucia, opened a nursing school, now veterinary school, has been the only school in SLU to be inspected and accredited by CAAM-HP (the same body which accredites UWI and standards trusted by the U.S. , ECFMG body to accredite institutions in the region).

As a Spartan grad who got all my “hands on training” as a student in two U.S. States, then after graduating went on to do residency at a U.S. University hospital and now lined up for fellowships all while having no trouble receiving state licenses to practice. I think the Star could do better and report on CURRENT issues and not personal opinions from others that are 11 years old. I would be more than willing to come explain the process of Caribbean med schools and all the factors associated with it at some point. Especially since I think articles like this one are not helping the public understand how it actually works. Yes and this Spartan grad is coming to practice in St Lucia.
