The House of Assembly and Senate will no longer meet this week. Parliamentarians were slated to debate a number of matters, including a motion seeking approval to borrow EUR 13,500,000.00 from the European Investment Bank, “to finance emergency operating expenses in the health sector related to the COVID-19 Virus Pandemic.”
However today, Monday the office of the Parliament of Saint Lucia announced: “The Sittings of the House of Assembly and Senate scheduled for Tuesday 22, and Thursday 24 June 2021, respectively, have been postponed.
“The Honourable President of the Senate and Honourable Speaker of the House of Assembly apologise for any inconvenience caused,” the notice read.
