I completely disagree that St Lucia is not a black nation. AS black is the majority of the population that qualify it as a black nation. Why should St Lucia not consider a black nation? For my understanding is that a nation is base on the majority race of people. Can we say that England or France is not a white nation because it have a mix race of people living there, I think not and furthermore, they will never accept it .St Lucia is about 85 percent black and if we are not consider a black nation then what are we?.

Fact : Huge losses in The now defunct Rum and Wine Tasting Festival. Fact : Huge losses of Jazz 2009 and 2010 , also the miss use of tourism funds to promote and entertain Amy Whineout Fact : The monopolization of groceries import and supermarket chains in St Lucia for years resulting in resounding hardship for the working class and poor St Lucians who found it difficult to provide the basic necessities for families who did not the luxury to have a barrel or remittance coming from friends and family over seas. Now with all these Fiscal Failures with State Funds he is now fit to lead ?? In order for one to reach the peak of the mountain one has to walk thru a valley. What where and which valley has Allen Chastanet walk thru ?

The new leader and first lady of this island plantation creates a family portrait like that which hung on the wall of the plantation Massa’s plantation manor and surely not a good one and a pleasant sight for Conscious Blacks who look forward to us having leaders and role models who mirror their black image so as to have blacks come together, get stronger and augment their self worth and self esteem and denounce white supremacy.
This leader and his spouse brings memories and mental images and colonialism to conscious blacks regardless whether he has good intentions for the people or whether he used his privileges of being son of a wealthy white man or mulatto who had all the resources to make this accomplishment thereby re instituting a paradigm that reflects master and slave in a plantation dramatization of neo colonialism or white supremacy where the costumes of the players are merely their ancestral skin color.

The subjugation of black people due to slavery and colonialism has not been completely worn off as many blacks who are not woke because of their conditioning by their European masters welcome this this new leadership and control.

As for blacks living in north America, it appears to me they are their worst enemies.Their hatred of white folks is not only systematic, but endemic. Yes blacks have suffered and continue to suffer but what are we doing about it? Trying to fight the white folk, wanting his economic power and means and wanting to ourselves become masters. We talk about equality but by equality we simply mean dominance by blacks over white, not racial harmony. We blame them for every thing that is wrong with our communities without looking at what we are doing that enables the problem. Really!! We enslave ourselves mentally and blame the white man. We hate each other just as much as we hate the so called white masters, we kill each other off like rats as we try to dominate each other. By our actions we tell the white folks they are right about what they think of us and they have every reason to fear allowing us to gain a foot over them. So they fear us, and that fear leads to a reaction that strangles us. The cycle is never ending. So I am not surprised at the author’s reaction to St. Lucians choosing what he perceives in his mind to be white, privileged and had it good to lead our country. Well I am glad this author see’s it simply as another St. Lucian who just happens to be from a minority. What an accomplishment for my people, that they have the fortitude to say no to the haters and racist in our midst and vote for a member of the minority. Personally I don’t like Allen, and have my bias’s against him for his treatment of me when he was minister of Tourism in the King Administration. But his treatment had nothing to do with my skin colour but everything to do with his not understanding what it means to be poor and struggling and not willing for a handout but needing to be facilitated to build my own. It is why I am in North America today. That being said Allen is a St. lucia, born to a St. Lucian parent, and has served this country before. So my people well done. We must now take a break, refocus and build our country. Stop hitting at each other and unite as one nation for our survival and progress. Do ourselves a favour instead of the disservice of racism and recidivism.

It is sad. St. Lucia is not a black nation, never was never will be. We have always being a mixed nation with the majority being black. The St. Lucia I grew up in had its racial under currents but we existed in harmony. The lighter skin people at one point enjoyed privileges not accorded the darker skin people but that began to change a long time ago. Unfortunately, politicians hungry for power began to prey upon the minds of the people and began the process of hate mongering. First it was JGM Compton was not St. Lucian. Now it is Allen is White. Now educated as Phillip J Pierre, he is a bigoted idiot whose pronouncements on the issue has helped fan the flames. He is among the leading politicians who like the the divide and rule mantra, and have taught my people to hate each other because of skin pigmentation, and to despise those who seem to have more means or economic power. This in turn has done more to enslave our people than the likes of Allen and Michael. Just like Kenny whose Ancestry is lined with white blood so is Michael. What is the difference? Yet PIP enslaved himself to Kenny, never feeling adequate enough to replace him. PIP was it the colour of his skin? Stop dividing our people along class and race lines SLP Bigots. Please stop, you know better. Your hatred and venom is going to destroy our people.
