Forty-two year old Joshua Richardson of Arrendel Hill, Marchand is now safely back behind bars after making a daring daylight escape from the Bordelais Correctional Facility (BCF) on Monday.
According to a statement from BCF on Tuesday, the inmate evaded lawful custody from the facility at about 12:10 pm on Monday December 29, 2014.
The STAR also learnt that Richardson made his way through staff quarters at the facility before passing between the two security fences. He then climbed the outer fence, sustaining several lacerations in the process from the barbed wire.
The BCF special operations response team went on a manhunt for Richardson immediately, starting off in the nearby Dennery area. At about 4:30 pm that same day Richardson was apprehended at Anse-Canot, Dennery. He was escorted back to BCF.
Richardson had been on remand since September 23, 2014 for the offences of stealing and fraud.
He had been previously convicted of possession of an altered passport and consequently incarcerated at the BCF for six months in 2012.
