[dropcap]W[/dropcap]ASCO is the new Inter Commercial Futsal (ICF) champion, following a 4-2 victory over Peter & Company Distribution (PCD), Saturday evening at the jam packed Beausejour Indoor Facility.
The finals of the fourth installment of ICF undoubtedly featured the best two teams. WASCO having placed third last year, upped their game this time around and at the same time avenged a semifinal lost to PCD last year.
This was corporate warfare at its finest. It was not just a battle on the court but also in the stands, as rowdy fans supported their team throughout the tournament win or lose.
Richard Annius led WASCO to victory with a hat trick in the 24th, 28th and 33rd minute. The other goal came courtesy of Samuel Lambert in the 10th minute.
The goal scorers for PCD were Javier Charlouis (36th minute) and Nye Henry (16th minute).
In the third place playoff that preceded the final, Bel Jour got past Scotiabank 4-2. Dean LaForce was a one man wrecking crew for the winning side scoring all four goals.
The goal scorers for Scotiabank were Chris Jeffrey and Jeff Jeffrey.
Preceding the final and third place playoff, was the first ever Legends Futsal Tournament final. Toughest emerged victorious with a 6-4 win over Compre FC.
Trevor “Crazy” Daniel was the main man for Toughest with a hat trick following goals in the eighth, 24th and 38th minute. The other goal scorers were Alvin Xavier, Roger Leon and Sheldon Michell.
