Time will tell nothing. Look how long IMPACS was waited for, delayed etc. and now what is it’s outcome?… Passing of the buck – this time onto the already bursting in-tray of the DPP.
Will the lab problems end there also?

SURELY it’s time the PM made a statement about the lab.

St Lucia is plagued with people who will not face up to their responsibilities. It’s sinking fast. Society will become completely lawless – what incentive is there for the police to apprehend criminals if little can be progressed through a court of law. Bordelais is bursting, the lab will deteriorate and become another white elephant. What a terrible waste of funding. This is all part of the structure that under pins the justice framework that strives to encourage a civilised society.
It’s no wonder foreign investment is lacking. Soon the tourists will stop coming.

The press must keep this ball rolling.

The lab is being used as a scapegoat to disguise sathe corruption within the police force. Time will reveal the truth. Let’s just hope that the officials involved will have the guts to furnish the nation with the truth when all of this controversy is blown wide open. A lab with promise and potential makes one wonder what is the real motivation behind its closure. Political? Corruption? Only time will tell.

Actually the Minister promised a comprehensive statement on the lab two years ago just after the murder of Cherise Benoit. That never came through. But this article relates a situation that is a sick joke. Permanent staff sent home yet eleven new staff in place to include NICE workers. Just so and just like that people just walk into a national security facility of such importance and take up shop. More evidence the ministry responsible for the lab is clueless into running such a level of operations. A crime lab is not an ice cream parlour.

so what will happen to all analyses which need to be done? Referred overseas? At exorbitant costs to the treasury, the tax payer. Whilst a 8 million dollar lab remains shut down indefinitely. Amidst that confusion In the real world top persons voluntarily do what they are expected to do if not they are asked to
