About 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 16, 2013, officers attached to the Gros Islet Police Station responded to reports of Burglary at Corinth Estate, Gros Islet. Whilst there, investigations led them to a Guest House in the area.
During an interview with a male guest occupying a room at the establishment, the officers noticed suspicious looking packages on the floor. The officers recovered 70 small packages of what appeared to be Cocaine from the room.
The suspect was arrested and taken into custody for the offences of Possession of a Controlled Drug and Possession with the Intent to Supply a Controlled Drug.
He was later identified as 34 year old Dwally Everlee Moranc, a Jamaican National with Canadian citizenship vacationing in Saint Lucia.
He appeared before the First District Court in Gros Islet on Wednesday, September 18, 2013 to answer to the said charges.
