Jewellery store owner attacked and robbed

On Monday 11th June 2012, about 7:05 am, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to the scene of a robbery which occurred on Maryann Street.
Reports indicate that Andrew Ettiene of Grande Riviere, Gros Islet was in the process of opening his business place when he was attacked by two masked men one of whom welded a cutlass.
He was robbed of a black leather bag containing jewellery amounting to $90, 000.00, his passport and other documents.
During the incident, Andrew Ettiene sustained a cutlass wound to his left hand. He was taken to Victoria Hospital where he was treated and discharged.
No one has been arrested in relation to this incident but the Royal
St Lucia Police Force is actively pursuing leads and suspects.
