Jim Coco Snow to be laid to rest on Friday

Mr. Morgan Dupal, popularly known as “Jim Coco Snow”, departed this life on Tuesday 18th May, 2021. This multi-talented son of Gadette, (a community in Mabouya Valley, Dennery) was victimized by blindness early in his formative years.

However, the indefatigable “Jim Coco Snow”, rejected the perception of “helplessness” commonly ascribed to blindness, through effective use of his wonderful singing voice and playing of musical instruments most notably the guitar. Moreover, he earned the respect and admiration of thousands of local citizens and visitors by sustained excellent performances of Saint Lucia’s traditional songs, calypso and country music at various choice locations around Castries and Vieux Fort including the Hewannorra International Airport.

Leading by example, Mr. Dupal contributed significantly to the ongoing process towards the equalization of opportunities for people living with blindness, vision impairment and otherwise differently-abled, in our nation. The Saint Lucia Blind Welfare Association (SLBWA) echoes popular sentiments that Mr. Morgan Dupal is a national hero.
