The FOLK RESEARCH CENTRE is pleased to announce the host communities for Creole Heritage Month 2013 which culminates in the celebration of Jounen Kweyol on October 27th. The Host communities are Mon Repos, Soufriere and Vieux Fort.
The launching of Creole Heritage Month is slated for Sunday September 29, 2013 at 3pm in Babonneau with a grand activity organized by the Folk Research Center here in Saint Lucia.
Vieux Fort was one of the two host communities for last year’s activities and the community has decided to host Jounen Kweyol again in 2013 because of the overwhelming success of 2012.
The FRC is finalizing the schedule of activities for the month of October. These will include cultural education programmes for children and adults featuring well known cultural personalities; activities in host and other communities; La Wenn Kweyol, a kweyol performance poetry competition, and many other events.
