Julien Alfred – Athlete of the week

[dropcap]I[/dropcap]t has been done before (can’t remember when) but you must admit, it’s quite a feat being named the Junior Sportswoman of the Year and Sportswoman of the Year at Saturday’s National Sports Awards at the Royalton Resort and Spa. A great accomplishment for Julien who come away with a gold medal at the Commonwealth Youth Games in the Bahamas with a magnificent performance in the 100 metre dash. That was just one of the highlights for this sprinter, who ranks among the top juniors in the world in that event. Looked forward to photographing her proudly displaying at least one of her trophies at the Sports Awards. Unfortunately she is studying and training in Jamaica and was unable to attend. The sky’s the limit for Julien and maybe I’ll get the opportunity to photograph her at next year’s National Sports Awards.
