It was simply a case of experience prevailing over youth, when Dig Set Point (DSP) went up against Junior Nationals during play in the ladies division, of the Bank of St Lucia Guy Brown Memorial Volleyball League Sunday afternoon at the Vigie Muti-Purpose Sports Complex.
DSP who are the reigning champions in this competition, made quick work of their opponents winning in straight sets 25-14, 25-5 and 25-10. Key players in this match for DSP were Cecila Louis (captain), national player Natasha Charlemagne and Prisca Simon. Also contributing to the team’s victory was Ella Verdant, Feria Andrew, Sherylann Joseph and Nordlyn Alexander.
A men’s game between Micoud and Jetsetters was schedule to take place following the female encounter, however it was postponed. The Micoud team was unable to travel to Castries due to heavy
rainfall on Saturday,
which also caused the cancellation of matches between Jetsetters and Evolucian (ladies division) and DSP vs Junior Nationals (men’s division).
It was more bad news for the Junior National ladies team hoping to recover following their loss to DSP. On Wednesday they went up against Le Club B, but again found themselves on the losing end.
The competition continues over the weekend with the two games schedule on Sunday in the ladies division. At 4:30 pm, Evolucian go up against Le Club A, followed by Dig Set Point entertaining Le Club B.
