The Malabar Beach Club invites locals to savour their ‘Toes in Sand’

The Rendezvous Hotel, known as “the ideal escape for romantics”, last Friday opened its shores to its newest addition, the Malabar Beach Club. General Manager Yhasmine Remy Hilton is thrilled to be able to offer locals and visitors alike a top notch ‘toes in the sand’ dining experience. The couples-only resort has for the past years been one of the local properties to maintain consistency and a high quality of service. The restaurant was launched late last year but last Friday, February 26, an official invitation was extended to media to visit the Malabar Beach Club.

“Rendezvous has been a strong feature of the Saint Lucian tourism industry and this year we celebrated our 20th anniversary,” said Hilton. “The hotel is one of the first all-inclusive hotels on island, as well as one of the first to deliver on destination weddings. A lot of firsts and a lot of maturity behind the service,” she went on to inform the press.

As part of the property’s transition from a four-and-a-half-star to a five-star rated hotel, the facility was temporarily closed to undergo renovations, particularly within the public areas. Part of that timely upgrade included the restaurant addition.

According to management, the intent of the Malabar Beach Club is to offer a more authentic experience to guests. ”We are aware that tourists are coming to our destination because they want something different, so we want to ensure that a Saint Lucian experience, culture, heritage, food and people are well represented in what we do,” Hilton disclosed. According to her, the concept of Malabar has been designed with just that in mind.

The cuisine at the Malabar Beach Club is of an international style with a local flare, coupled with the infusion of local ingredients and spices, all exclusively Saint Lucian. Management is confident that the restaurant, elegantly perched on a stunning, two-mile long, white sandy beach retreat, ranks among the best in the world in terms of quality standards, with the ability to compete with any other location. And Saint Lucians are being enticed to ‘enjoy life’s pleasures too’.

The adult-only hotel, located along the Vigie Beach, is situated in what management considers to be the ideal location, sitting just minutes away from the George FL Charles Airport.

When asked about what is unique to the property, Hilton told the STAR, “There are very few restaurants locally which are right on the beach. And the management of the Malabar Beach Club pride themselves on presentation and the infusion of local ingredients like salt fish and ground provisions.”

  • There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God. For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his. Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.
For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrows, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.
