Man Escapes Police Custody Days after Being Arrested for Assault and, RED NOTICE from INTERPOL

JOINT POLICE OPERATION IN THE NORTHERN DIVISION

On Thursday, June 8 2023 about 3:00 a.m. Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Vulnerable Persons Team, Bicycle Patrol Unit and the Special Services Unit conducted an operation in the Barre Denis, Odsan and Ciceron.

During the conduct of the operation a Search Warrant was executed on the premises of Jesse Charles at Barre Denis. One (1) Taurus 9mm firearm and one (1) magazine containing six (6) rounds of Ammunition and one (1) round of .357 Ammunition was recovered.

Jesse Charles was subsequently arrested and charged for the offence of Possession of Firearm and Possession of Ammunition. He was escorted to the First District Court where he pleaded guilty to the offences and he was remanded to the Bordelias Correctional Facility until a later date for sentencing.

Officers also executed a Search Warrant on the premises of Joharius Johannes alias Joe Grind and Junior Dorville at Odsan Morne D’Or. Nothing of evidential value was found. Joharius Johannes was arrested in relation to a report of Assault with a Firearm, and also a RED NOTICE from INTERPOL in relation to the offence of Murder on the island of Martinque. He was escorted to the First District Court, where he was remanded to the Bordalias Correctional Facilty.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, about 5:30 a.m. Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department, Castries, Bicycle Patrol Unit and the Special Services Unit conducted a search of a shop and its surroundings. During the conduct of the search of a derelict vehicle parked across the shop Officers recovered one (1) RG-14 .22 Revolver. No one was arrested after the recovery.

ESCAPING LAWFUL CUSTODY

On Wednesday June 14,2023 Joharius Johannes alias Joe Grind and Junior Dorville of Odsan/ Morne D’or escaped Lawful Custody from the Babonneau Police Station after attending Court via Zoom. He was pursued but was not recaptured and remains at large.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force urges anyone with information regarding the whereabouts of Joharius Johannes is asked to contact the nearest police station or Babonneau Police Station at 456-4120,456-4122 or the CRIME Hotline at 555 for anonymous reporting.
