Six more teams have qualified for the grand finals of the 2013 Guinness Street Challenge small goals football competition to be held on the Cacabef in Vieux Fort June 9.
Three more qualifying legs took place at the weekend. On Friday evening from Mabouya Valley, Pumas and Baba Roots booked their place in the finals with Pumas winning the leg defeating Baba Roots in the finals 3-0.
Saturday evening in Micoud, Young Guns and Prospects secured their place in the grand finals, with Young Guns registering a one goal to nil win in the finals.
Sunday evening in Vanard, Veterans and Enjoyment qualified for the grand finals. Veterans were leading one nil in the final when the lights failed. The organizers and the teams agreed to give Veterans the victory in that leg as a result of being one nil up when the blackout occurred.
Three more qualifying legs remain before the grand finals on the Cacabef on June 9; Wednesday evening in Soufriere, Thursday in Babonneau and Sunday in Vieux Fort. The overall winner gets $4000 dollars in cash, plus a chance to represent St Lucia at the regional finals in St Vincent and the Grenadines June 20-23.
