The National Insurance Corporation’s (NIC) Vieux Fort office is closed until further notice. In a statement on Wednesday night, the NIC indicated that an employee at that branch has tested positive for COVID-19.
“The Ministry of Health has started the necessary contact tracing and testing of persons identified as being in close contact with the affected employee,” the NIC stated. “In the interest of safeguarding members of the public and our dedicated staff, the NIC’s Vieux Fort Office will be closed from Thursday 29th October until further notice. All other offices remain open.”
“During the period of the temporary closure of our Vieux-Fort office, we encourage the public to access our services at the Castries main office, Soufriere and Rodney Bay branches as we seek to explore alternative arrangements for our Vieux Fort customers. The NIC apologizes for the inconvenience caused to the public,” the organization stated.
