The Nobel Laureate Week Committee this week began meetings to discuss Nobel Laureate Week 2016 activities. Every year the committee has the task of creating events that celebrate Saint Lucia’s Nobel Laureates, Sir William Arthur Lewis and Hon Derek Walcott. Invitations have always been extended to members of the public, at home and abroad, to submit ideas on events they would like to see produced or they would like to produce themselves. As the week of celebration approaches its 23rd year, the committee repeats this invitation earlier than usual to stimulate thoughts and encourage participation. Nobel Laureate Week 2016 will be celebrated from 17th -23rd January.
Chairperson of the Committee, Governor General, Her Excellency Dame Pearlette Louisy, reminds participants that all ideas must be submitted under the general theme Celebrating Excellence.
Ideas and activities can be from the spoken word, dance, song, exhibitions and may use any medium. Prior to submission, ideas can be discussed with the committee co-ordinator Delia Dolor on (758) 452 3060 and (758) 485 3060 or emailed to info@ddmediarelations.com. The deadline for submissions is 30th October, 2015.
