Official statement on the formal commencement of operations of the new entity arising from the acquisition of RBC Royal Bank of Canada by 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited’s Managing Director, Johnathan Johannes.
——
Dear Loyal Customers,
I write today to express my personal best wishes, and that of the Board, Management and Staff of 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited, for your continued good health despite the challenges presented by the Covid 19 pandemic.
This communication serves to formally advise of an historic development in the journey from good to great for your Bank.
As of April 1st, 2021, the activities and assets of RBC Royal Bank of Canada in Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines become absorbed into 1st National Bank St. Lucia Limited, further strengthening the Bank’s presence, capacity and operations.
This strategic development, has been long in planning and will be extensive in its benefits to the customers of both financial institutions, as there will be changes and new functionalities to become familiar with.
At the same time there is much that will remain unchanged. I will continue to head your leadership team and the familiar and beloved tenets of 1st National Bank will continue to guide our every decision. Our commitment to delivering superior financial products and services, powered by industry-leading technology, and indigenous knowledge and passion, is changed only in its capacity to deliver even more powerfully with this expansion.
Critically, our embrace of the operations in St. Vincent and the Grenadines will create a new and priceless value for all customers as our reach becomes regional and our opportunities begin crossing even the physical borders of land and sea. As our nearest sister isle, St.Vincent and St. Lucia have a shared history and we are confident that this new regional reach will ensure a more beneficial future for the citizens of both nations.
The observable changes will initially be small as we merge the best of both banks. However this historic accomplishment will quickly begin presenting itself through even more improved service and support for the financial goals of all customers. Seamless access via new branches, expanded ATM presence and online functions will be immediate and increasing.
We are equally committed to ensuring that our lines of communication follow a parallel path of increased access, openness and simple honesty as we chart the way ahead. We cannot do this without you, our customers, the very reason for whom we passionately pursue good to great.
For and with you we are building together…better.
This is the first of many messages, utilizing all our channels, to communicate as we build and keeping us all updated and informed as we move forward together.
Johnathan Johannes
