Olympic Committee delivered more funding to affiliates

St Lucia Olympic Committee Inc President, Fortuna Belrose made this cheque presentation to St Lucia Aquatics Federation President, Eddie Hazell.

The Saint Lucia Aquatics Federation (SLAF) was the most recent Member Federation of the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee Incorporated to receive financial support for one of their activities. The contribution of EC $10, 500.81 goes towards covering airfares for Saint Lucia’s team competing in the 2019 CARIFTA Swim Championships in Barbados from April 20-24. President of the St Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) Inc, Fortuna Belrose said: “Our agency continues to lend support to our affiliates to achieve their goals. We have had some outstanding athletes who have come through and Danielle Beaubrun always comes to mind when we talk swimming in Saint Lucia. We trust that as you continue to develop young athletes you will see the results that you are looking for. She added: “As you continue doing your work we hope that you will be inspired by the performances of these youngsters, because it’s what keeps us going”. Receiving on behalf of the SLAF was President Eddie Hazell. He expressed his executive’s appreciation for the support given by the SLOC Inc to the Federation and Saint Lucian swimmers by extension.

Hazell said: “Our mandate is always development and that is what we have always focused on. We cannot do it by ourselves. This is a long haul. In our very first year of taking office we did a review of the entire organization and realized it was all about development, from the grassroots level right up to competition level.”
