Olympic Committee holds Sports for All

Cycling will feature prominently among Sunday’s activities associated with Sports for All.

Tomorrow (Sunday) the Saint Lucia Olympic Committee (SLOC) will put on a day of activities Dubbed “Sports for All”. The activity is open to everyone on the island.
The activities get underway will at 8:00 am with a walk which starts outside the Castries Market, north along the John Compton Highway, into Mandela drive all the way to the St Mary’s College and back to the Vigie Sports Complex.
Following the walk, activities will move into full gear with a cardio blast workout with Vel, of Vel’s Fitness Centre. This will be followed by a jump rope display from the students of the Laborie Boys Primary School.
Table Tennis event will get underway around 10:00 am. This event is open to the public. Participants can register on the day with officials on the Table Tennis Association who will be at the complex.
The Athletics and Football Associations will have their kids on display as well as the St Lucia Cycling Association which will stage several events open to the public beginning at 2 pm. All types of riders are welcome to participate.
Registration for this event is at 1:00 pm at the Vigie Multi Purpose Sports Complex and will be handled by officials of the Cycling Association. Members of the public wishing to participate in the cycling events are reminded to bring along their bikes.
The Committee wishes to remind the public that there is no registration fee and their participation is entirely free.
