One Dead after shots fired in crowd

On Tuesday 17th July 2012, about 5:30 pm, Officers attached to the Criminal Investigations Department responded to an incident which occurred at the intersection of Chisel and St. Louis Street, Castries.

Information received indicates that 27 year old Leevy Wilson of Patience, Mon Repos and 20 year old Yannick Sylvester of City Gate were standing at the said intersection when shots were fired in their direction. Yannick Sylvester sustained a gunshot wound to his right arm. He was transported to Victoria Hospital via ambulance and was treated and discharged.

Leevy Wilson sustained a gunshot wound to the chest area and succumbed to his injury. He was pronounced dead on the scene by a doctor.
