One dead, three injured in Bexon crash

Lisa Felicien’s vehicle ran off the road early Friday morning after an outing with friends.

Celebrating birthdays with friends and family, often with a fun filled night out is commonplace for young people in St Lucia. After all, birthdays only come around once a year and deserve to be celebrated in the most memorable way possible—but what happens when the good times take an unexpected turn?
Reports of a fatal accident early Friday morning wasn’t the sort of news anyone wanted to take up to, much less the families who found out this time tragedy was right on their doorsteps. Police reports indicate that at about 2:37am a vehicle driven by Lisa Felicien of Ravine Chabot ran off the road. According to police reports Lisa was driving along the Bexon Highway with three passengers in the car; 22-year-old Tiffany Felicien and 26-year-old Lance Montoute also known as Mac11, both of Ravine Chabot and 23-year-old Kernetta Fontinelle from Cas En Bar at the time. Sources close to the incident told the STAR Lisa had been out celebrating her birthday.
The driver, Lisa Felicien succumbed to her injuries at 4.20am Friday while at hospital. Reports indicate that the other passengers including popular St Lucian entertainer MAC 11, known for tracks like “Shave Under Your Arm”, “Vibrate”, “Make It Stick”, among others, remains in critical condition.
On Friday Facebook friends flooded the walls of the accident victims with heartfelt messages including this one posted on MAC 11’s: “Just heard the news. My boy, may God guide you through this, that you may come out stronger than ever. God is watching over you and I’m praying for you too. With God as your guide may you recover quickly! Stay strong and get well soon. It’s not your time…”
“My prayers go out to you every one of you,” a friend expressed. “I hope you have a speedy recovery… I love you. My deepest condolences go out to you and your family and may Lisa rest in peace!”
A close friend of Lisa’s added: “Words can’t even begin to express how I feel right this minute. This got me speechless. It was just a few days ago you were here with my family and I, smiling and living life… You left a mark, a good one at that, but Jah knows and I know that you are indeed in a better
place, with the most high. You will always be remembered, for being a wonderful individual, so full of joy, love and happiness.”
Lisa Felicien leaves behind a four-year-old son. Police investigations into the accident are ongoing.
