One man dead and another seriously injured

On Sunday 2 December 2012 about 5:45am, Officers attached to the Vieux Fort Police Station responded to an incident which occurred at the Vieux Fort Fisheries Complex.

Information received indicates that 54 year old George Alfred of Hospital Road, Vieux Fort and 36 year old Shervon George of Pierrot, Vieux Fort were attacked by a known male individual with a metal object.

As a result of the injuries sustained, both individuals were transported to St. Jude’s Hospital. George Alfred was pronounced dead on arrival where as Shervon George was treated and admitted. He is said to be in a stable condition.

A post mortem is scheduled to be performed on the body of George Alfred on Tuesday 4 December 2012.

One person is currently in police custody assisting with investigations.
