[dropcap]S[/dropcap]aint Lucian fine artist Peter Walcott will launch his collection of works to art lovers in the “Ioüanalao” Art Exhibition at the Inner Gallery, Bois d’Orange, Gros Islet. The exhibition is an exciting vista of our island, first named “Ioüanalao” or “Hewanorra” in Amerindian, which means “There from where the iguana is found”.
“My paintings are filled with Saint Lucian imagery,” says Peter Walcott. “An artist can do a tropical painting which could be of anywhere; instead I want viewers familiar with Saint Lucia to recognise my paintings to be that of our beautiful island and its unique scenic sights.”
Peter Walcott’s ability to express his vision comes alive on canvas with his precise choice of palette, full of bright, light, acrylic paint, applied with controlled brush strokes, influenced no doubt by four years of formal architectural training.
Art to Peter Walcott is “simply about the joy of creating”. The Inner Gallery invites you to experience his vivid, light-infused paintings capturing Saint Lucia’s unique views in his semi-photo realistic style. The exhibition runs from this Friday August 17 to Friday September 14, 2018.
