Opposition Leader Philip J. Pierre on Thursday received his first dose of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine. Pierre and Opposition parliamentarians took the jab at Parliament Building in Castries.
After the exercise, Pierre took to Facebook to share a few words: “As promised, today I received my first dose of the Oxford Astrazeneca vaccine after our front-line workers. I would like to encourage the people of Saint Lucia to get vaccinated when the opportunity is offered. The Saint Lucia Labour Party cares about the health of our country. Let’s get vaccinated!”
In February Pierre declined an invitation from the Ministry of Health to be among the first to receive the vaccine, arguing that frontline workers were more deserving.
