Police Assou Square Review

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force (RSLPF) would like to report a successful Assou Square activity. During the two day event, the RSLPF recorded only one major incident.

Our review indicates that large crowds attended the activity held at Vigie, Castries. During such events, there is always the potential for serious incidents occurring.

This was the case on Wednesday, January 1, 2014 about 7:25 p.m., when 25 year old Naem Williams of Ravine Chabot, Castries sustained a stab wound to the stomach and was rushed to Victoria Hospital via ambulance where he was treated and admitted.

A second individual who also sustained an injury to the face was treated by emergency personal at the scene and subsequently transported to Victoria Hospital for further treatment. This individual has since been arrested and is assisting police with the investigation surrounding the stabbing incident

Despite the few minor incidents, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force would like to thank the well behaved patrons for making Assou Square a safe and enjoyable one.
