Officers attached to the CID are currently investigating an incident which occurred at La Toc, on Friday 6th January 2012 about 2:50 pm.
Reports indicate that at the time of the incident a Special Police Constable of Mon Repos was travelling onboard a vehicle which was intercepted on the La Toc road when a search was conducted on the vehicle. As a result 4 boxes of 9mm rounds were recovered. Each box contained 50 live rounds of 9mm ammunition.
He was arrested and escorted to the Criminal investigations Department and was charged for the offence of Possession of ammunition on Saturday 7th January 2011.
He was subsequently taken to the first District Court on Monday 9th January 2012 where bail was granted in the sum of $7500 cash or suitable surety with certain reporting conditions. He is to report to the Micoud Police Station every Wednesday between the hours of 6am and 6 pm, surrender all of his travelling documents, not to leave the state and not to apply for any new travelling documents with the court’s permission. He is to reappear before court on 27th January 2012.
