Police Update on Major Crimes

HOMICIDE AT MARIGOT

On Wednesday June, 14, 2023 about 1:30 p.m. Officers of the Marigot Police Station responded to report of a lifeless male body at Marigot. On arrival on the scene Officers observed the body of a male with multiple gunshot wounds about his body.

The male was later identified as thirthy-eight (38) year old Ernie Byron of Jacmel. He was pronounced dead on the scene by a medical practitioner.

The Royal Saint Lucia Police Force wishes to urge anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the nearest police station or the Marigot Police Station at 456-3895 or the Crime Hotline at 555 for anonymous repo

HOMICIDE IN LA POINTE, DENNERY

On Saturday, June 10, 2023, about 3:40 a.m. Officers attached to the Dennery Police Station responded to a report of a stabbing at La Pointe, Dennery. On arrival the Officers observed one (1) female with multiple stab wounds about her body.

The female was later identified as Bonita James thirty-three (33) years old of La Pointe, Dennery. She was conveyed to the St. Jude Hospital via ambulance, where she was later pronounced dead by a medical practitioner.

One (1) male is presently in custody in relation to this incident. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date.

On Monday, June 12, 2023 Leonus Pelage of La Pointe, Dennery was formally charged for causing the death of Bonita James which occurred on Saturday June, 10, 2023 about 3:40 a.m. at La Pointe, Dennery. Leonus Pelage was escorted to the Second District Court for the purpose of a bail hearing. He was remanded at the Bordelias Correctional Facility until a later date.

 RECOVERY OF CONTROLLED DRUGS FIREARM AND AMMUNITION IN PIAYE, LABORIE.

On Friday, June 9, 2023, about 5:00 a.m., Officers attached to the Drug Squad, Vieux Fort executed a Search Warrant on the premises of Aaron Eder Eugene at Piaye, Laborie. During the execution of the Search Warrant a quantity of Controlled Drugs, one (1) Air Pistol and five (5) Pellets were recovered.

Aaron Eder Eugene of Piaye, Laborie was arrested and charged the following offences:

1)      Possession of Controlled Drugs

2)      Possession of Controlled Drugs with Intent to Supply

3)      Possession of Firearm

4)      Possession of Ammunition.

Aaron Eder Eugene was escorted to the Second District Court and was remanded at the Bordelias Correctional Facility.
