When that is safely done and we are in a position to do so, again, carefully drain the water and backfill the area where the water ran. This is probably not the world’s biggest project but, with a bit of thought and careful planning, it can be done. bearing in mind that this stagnant pool has been around for decades, the health ministry must take appropriate action to ensure minimal risk to the lives of the resident of Vieux Fort and the surroundings.
Any thoughts … anyone … !?

The mosquito breeding grounds are also there for all to see. Here is one of them … in the late 60s, the Government of St. Lucia extended the air strip that serves Hewanorra Int’l Airport and that meant diverting the river which flowed at the western edge of the town of Vieux Fort. Unfortunately, a large part of the that river was never drained and remnants of that river still remain albeit an untreated body of water that flows nowhere; that stagnant pool of green mass of water is probably the worse I have seen anywhere in the Caribbean but it is there for all to see. What must be done to eradicate a possible catastrophic situation right here in…

For so long everyone has been waiting for NICE and SMILE jobs, nobody is personnaly responsible for their life. maybe now they are waiting for Kenny to do some magic voodoo and rid the island of migwen. Why are the poor so apathetic when it comes to daily responsibilities. Kenny go kill all the migwen with VAT. But seriously, there needs to be more done about this crisis.
