Prisoner Found Hanging

About 7:40 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2013, 22 year old Shakadan Daniel of Back Street, Micoud, a prisoner in custody at the Micoud Police Station was discovered hanging in his cell. Dr. Daniel, District Medical Officer for Micoud was immediately summoned to the scene and pronounced Daniel dead. A post mortem examination is scheduled for a later date. Warrants of Arrest in the First Instance for the following offences were issued for the arrest of Shakadan Daniel on Monday, October 21, 2013. They are; Escaping Lawful Custody, Assaulting a Police Officer and Damage to Property. Daniel was scheduled to make a court appearance at the Second District Court in Dennery on Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Police say the matter is currently under investigation.
