Quarter Finalists decided in 2013 Veterans Football Tournament

VSADC players in pursuit of a Prophets and Kings forward during Sunday’s game at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The quarter finalists have been decided in the 2013 Veterans Football Tournament, after the final set of preliminary matches were played at the weekend.

The eight quarter finalists are Laborie Group A winners and Group A runners up  Vieux Fort South (defending champions), Group B winners Congorians and Group B runners up Gros Islet, Group C  Winners Behind The College All Stars and Group C runners up Anse La Raye and Group D winners Dennery All Blacks and Group D runners up VSADC.

The quarter final matches will be played this coming Saturday and Sunday at the Beausejour Cricket Ground. On Saturday November 16 from 6:00 p.m Laborie takes on Gros Islet and from 8:00 pm Congorians go up against Vieux Fort South.

Sunday from 4:00 pm Behind the College All Stars play VSADC, while from 6:00 pm Anse La Raye battle Dennery All Blacks.

The final preliminary round matches took place over the weekend at three venues. On Saturday in Micoud, Dennery All Blacks won by default over Soufriere, Laborie shutout Vieux Fort South 1-0 and Micoud blanked Mabouya Valley 2-0.

Sunday at the Gros Islet Playing Field, Anse La Raye drubbed Nyah 5-0, VSADC and Prophets and Kings played to a one all draw, Caricom Masters got the better of Behind the College All Stars 4-2 while home team Gros Islet and Congorians played to a 2-2 draw.

In a match played Sunday morning at the Sab Sporting Facility between two teams who had no chance of qualifying for the quarter finals, Spartans hammered Lancers FC 5-1.
