(Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Saint Lucia)- The government of the Republic of China (Taiwan) has recently sent Ting-Ting Lu to serve as the Mandarin instructor in Taiwan Technical Mission in Saint Lucia. The primary purpose of her coming is to promote the atmosphere of Mandarin learning and Taiwanese culture. Moreover, to do the cultural exchanges by language to enhance bilateral relations.
Ms. Lu dedicated herself to higher education. She has been teaching Mandarin as a second language overseas for years. With years of teaching experience, she is very good at arousing learners’ interest and improving their communication skills. Furthermore, she has been involved in distance teaching and has benefited students all over the world. Therefore, she has continued to provide opportunities for learners to learn Mandarin despite the epidemic.
She hopes that in the coming year, students and people from all walks of life will have the opportunity to learn Mandarin through this programme. To increase the Mandarin language learning population and apply what they have learned in the future in foreign affairs, business, academic and other fields.
It is expected that by the end of this yearly programme, the following goals will be achieved: to increase the number of Mandarin language learners, to strengthen learners’ language skills, to promote Taiwanese characteristics, to enrich their knowledge of Mandarin, and to experience Taiwanese culture. It is also hoped that learners will take Mandarin as a medium to delve deeper into various topics of interest to them, to connect with the world. In addition, they will learn about Taiwanese festivals and lifestyles, and gain a better understanding of Taiwan.
