Saint Lucian Anisa “Queen Lily” Schrader Captures Champion Female Angler at the 2022 Barbados International Fishing Tournament

On April 9th 2022, the Barbados Game Fishing Association named Anisa “Queen Lily” Schrader the Champion Female Angler of the 2022 Sir Charles Williams Barbados International Fishing Tournament. Queen Lily’s impressive catch was a massive 500-pound Blue Marlin, her humbleness shines when asked about the win “It was so exciting participating in this tournament and I owe all my success to my team, they are the best in the Caribbean.” Lily and Team Maverick also secured trophies and prizes for 3rd Place Overall, Champion Foreign Boat, and 2nd Place for the Day One Jake’s Jackpot.

Top angler and first mate Anisa “Queen Lily” Schrader and husband Fred Schrader are based out of Marigot Bay, their 74ft Viking Sports Fisherman Yacht is crewed by an all-Saint Lucian team. Captained by the venerable Martin Thomas, cockpit boss Errol “Gladiator” Francis and second mate Caroline “Billfish” Paltoo, all have a history of bringing the big ones to the boat.

Team Maverick had a sweep of six trophies at the International Martinique Billfish Tournament in October 2019. Queen Lily caught the only marlin recorded during the entire tournament. She was also named top Female Angler at the 2020 Spice Island Billfish Tournament.

Queen Lily and Team Maverick placed 11th overall at the 2020 Costa Offshore World Championship. The Offshore World Championship is the world’s premier saltwater fishing championship, considered by most to be the final rite of passage for avid offshore anglers worldwide.
